Financial Aid

Applying for financial aid can be a maze, but we’re here to lead you on your way. To apply for financial aid:

  1. Apply to an LSU Online degree
  2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  3. Complete the verification process

M.J. Foster Promise Program

Beginning in Fall 2022, financial assistance will be available through the M.J. Foster Promise Program for qualifying Louisiana residents enrolled in a qualifying two-year program. To learn more about this program, please visit the M.J. Foster Promise Program website or contact your Enrollment Coach. 


Employer Tuition Reimbursement Programs

LSU Online partners with a variety of employers who offer tuition reimbursement for eligible employees to help minimize your student loan debt. Checking directly with your employer, most often the Human Resources or Benefits department is the best way to confirm your eligibility. Once you have confirmed eligibility, please contact an Enrollment Coach at 833-280-5634 or lsuonline@lsu.edu about your payment options and the application process.

Prior Learning Assessment

You may be able to save on your degree through experience and certifications gained outside of the classroom. Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) allows students to apply career-related learning and professional development certifications towards college credit.
